Our cozy, intimate office is meant to make you feel right at home and unlike many dental offices, most of your visit will be directly with the dentist. We are proud to serve the Roaring Fork Valley community by offering a number of dental services, including (but not limited to) cosmetic dentistry, botulinum toxin (Botox) treatments, removable and fixed prosthodontics, routine hygiene, preventative care, and Invisalign.

At Willits Family Dentistry, our relationship with you is important to us. Unlike many dental offices, your entire appointment is with the dentist, even for cleanings. Not only does this allow us to provide the highest quality of care, it also helps us confidently create the most personalized treatment plan for you as an individual. Holistic oral care means looking at each patient as whole, and that requires us getting to know you the best that we can. Although many offices claim this, we live it. Our promise to you is that you’ll never feel like “just another patient” when you’re with us.
Meet the Team

Dr. Herschel Ross, DDS
Dr. Herschel Ross is a native of Hollywood, CA and an alumnus of UCLA. He attended dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco and practiced in Palo Alto until moving to the Valley in 1979. It was then that Dr. Ross opened the first and only dental office in Snowmass Village. He opened a second office in Old Town Basalt in 1993 and then our current office in Willits in 2018.
Herschel has always been an engaged member of the Valley. He served in elected office for 12 years after being very involved in nonprofits, including the Food and Wine classic. Dr. Ross has also been a Rotarian for over 20 years. Aside from his humanitarian efforts, Herschel enjoys sailing, skiing, and tournament tennis.

Laurie Rosenberg, Office Manager
Laurie is a native of the Roaring Fork Valley. She has over 20 years of experience in the dental profession and has been working with Dr. Ross since 2000. At our office, Laurie is the “Jill of All Trades,” responsible for both front-of-office and back-of-office duties. As anyone who has been to our office can attest, Laurie loves helping people, both in dentistry and outside of it. Cosmetic dentistry particularly has a special place in Laurie’s heart because it can change people’s lives entirely just by changing their smile.

Mariana Lerma, Dental Assistant
Mariana Lerma, dental assistant, joined Willits Family Dentistry in 2023. She has over 15 years of experience in the dental and profession. She earned her certification from the National School of Dental Assisting. Well-suited to her career in dentistry, Marina’s favorite part of her day-to-day work is interacting with patients. She was born in Mexico and raised in Utah and is fully fluent in both English and Spanish.
Mariana is a highly motivated and detail-oriented dental assistant with a strong commitment to patient well-being. I have a keen interest in dental technology and am always eager to learn new techniques. I enjoy working collaboratively with the dental team to provide the best possible care for our patients. In my free time, I am an avid hiker and enjoy spending time with my family.
